Artists: Local Suicide & Billy Idle Title: Disco Bizarre(Part of Various Artist Compilation ‘Spektrum 2’) Label: Disco Bizzare Cat No: Kitty01 Format: Digital Release Date: July 2nd, 2020
EP Info: Disco Bizarre releases “Free Love Vol. 1” – a charity compilation to save Berlin’s legendary KitKat Club On Friday July 3rd, Berlin’s favorite funky crew Disco Bizarre releases Free Love Vol. 1, an album full of only original disco tracks. All profits go directly to KitKat Club – to help the space survive. As most clubs in Berlin, KitKat Club is in serious financial difficulties. The continued closure and thus lack of income in combination with high fixed costs call for creative measures to ensure the survival of the famous fetish club. Since 2018, Disco Bizarre hosts the basement floor on Saturday’s club night „Carneball Bizarre“. Over the years, the crew has expanded and added plenty of resident DJs to their roster. They also released their first Vinyl EP in 2019. Now, it’s time to support the mothership with full energy with the first KitKat compilation ever – more are to follow! Enjoy 12 banging original disco tracks, created by the network surrounding Disco Bizarre, and support KitKat by buying it – it costs as much as one entry.
Trio Tactic is the resident jazz band of the Kitkat Club, performing in the pool area each Saturday night. But that doesn‘t stop them from composing some of the best progressive jazz in town.
The Disco Bizarre consists of musicians that regularly frequent or perform in the club plus friends that simply like what they are doing. The band project is led by Billy Idle and produced by carlo von lynX.
Sauvage World is a duo formed by Michele Tessadri and Luc Sauvage of Slow Motion music, best known for their Wrong Era party nights, researching the deeper depths of italo and 80‘s disco
Alexander Robotnick is a living legend of the 80‘s new wave and electro scene who gave us the honour to perform for Disco Bizarre last summer. On that occasion a collaboration arose with Kitkat resident carlo von lynX.
Local Suicide are frequently considered purveyors of so-called dark disco and have a well-established following in Berlin. They have been performing at Electric Monday and were just about to also play at Disco Bizarre when the virus came. So they wrote this declaration of love for our basement party and used all their best hardware synthesizers for it. Our resident Billy Idle helped out with songwriting and recruiting a Cello.
Magic Source is a band project out of Hamburg specialised in creating new 70‘s cosmic sound. We are very happy they chose to donate their album opener track and let us pimp it a little. Tadpole is the songwriter and producer of the Antientertainer band project and frequent improvisation vocalist at Disco Bizarre parties. We found this gem lost on his hard disk.
BRM came from Holland to Berlin in the heyday of electro. Like many electro musicians his sound developed more towards a research in the sound scapes of 80‘s dance music. He thus was a band member of the Rimini Sunset project, but this time around found it more interesting to team up with saxophonist Ibon Goitia for a terrific 80‘s hymn.
Yes And The Sun is the brainchild of Claudio Curciotti, an electronic musician who also navigates the scene of experimental electronica by the name of Iqbit, then looked for collaborators towards a more clubbier and, unusual for Italian electronica, happier attitude in music. Having absolved several live shows at Kitkat Club recently, he extrapolated one of his tunes with the help of singer Gerry Rude, Joe Stuart on guitar, Ibon Goitia on sax and carlo von lynX on keyboards and production.
Jayl Funk is a frequently visiting deejay at Disco Bizarre, and… surprise, surprise… also an excellent producer of fresh, natural and organic sounding house music!
Algy Strutt somehow found out about us and sent us this absolutely unstoppable deep space disco banger.
Neoangin is the musician alias of one of Berlin‘s best known pop art painters, Jim Avignon. His style of music is usually just as upfront pop as his paintings, but on this special occasion we were treated to an experiment in 90‘s sounding piano house. Experiment successful. The song is awesome!
Tyler Pope is best known for his membership in the LCD Soundsystem band. Since he chose to settle down in Berlin rather than the U.S. he inevitably found his way behind the Disco Bizarre DJ booth. He brings us a refreshing mixture of synthesizer sounds on top of instrumental 70‘s disco. Hot! Very hot!
Radio Vomeer‘s track was inevitably the best choice to close this album, taking us away from the disco into Gary Numanesque tonalities of electro new wave, garnished with appropriate vocals. We just couldn‘t play it earlier or it would have stolen everybody else‘s show!
Tracklist: 01.Trio Tactic – 3 Gin Tonic 02. The Disco Bizarre – Saturn Shrimps 03. Sauvage World – Reach For You 04. Alexander Robotnick & carlo von lynX – Tempelhof Breakdance 05. Jayl Funk – The Last Night 11. Algy Strutt – Future Flashbacks 12. Neoangin – Here It Is 13. Tyler Pope – Under The Influence 14. Radio Vomeer – Schaltkreis

Artists: Theus Mago & Local Suicide Title: Technician (Part of Various Artist Compilation ‘Spektrum 2’) Label: TAU Distribution: Paradise Distribution Cat No: TAU 16 Format: Cassette / Digital Release Date: June 5th, 2020
It’s been a year since the Adana Twins unveiled the first Spektrum compilation on their highly-regarded TAU label, now they’re back with the second bumper installment. The guys have been hard at work A&Ring brand new music for this mammoth collection featuring 16 very special cuts from an array of artists, friends and family connected to TAU, all of whom embody the label’s emotive, forward-thinking ethos. Since TAU launched, it has established a strong identity focused on delivering emotion to the dance floor through compelling, often hypnotic, productions that incorporate elements of new wave, house and techno to present a distinct audio aesthetic. The Adana Twins have assembled a talented collective of artists around the label, each one bringing their own voice to the platform and elevating the energy of dance floors across the world…
Spektrum 2 begins with Underspreche’s ‘My Beloved’, an oscillating journey into the wonder of sound. The undulating bassline combines with snappy beats and mystical elements to create a mesmerising atmosphere, which peaks with an electrifying breakdown punctuated by a life-af- firming vocal. Next is the label bosses themselves, Adana Twins, with ‘Room II’. This one oozes funk as whiplash percussion supports a b-line that’s full of bounce. A haunting motif adds emotive drama, while a spinetingling melody boosts the eerie feel of this one. Frenchy INVŌKER steps up next with ‘Tōkyō’, a heady composition shrouded in mysterious allure. A patient build up ensures you’re feeling ready to release some tension by the time this one reaches its first breakdown and sends us head first into the main body of the track. Tribalesque beats keep it rolling as a menacing low end adds venom, juxtaposed with gentle chimes. Four tracks in we have Radeckt’s slinky cut ‘Ways Of Evolution’, a multi-lay- ered tune that never seems busy despite the variety of sounds it incorporates. Organic instrumentation sits alongside electronic beats giving this one a contemporary Persian feel, ease back and let the mystical desert vibes drift over you.
Enzo Elia’s ‘Pensees’ is next, keeping things on the darker side. An air of menace permeates through this cut, with soft, soulful vocals floating in the background adding depth. From the vicious bassline to the unsettling breakdown, tensions rise and implode sending us back into the waves of darkside synth. An old friend follows Enzo with Ruede Hagelstein delivering ‘Aschera’, a typically distinct cut with a moody bassline comple- mented by idiosyncratic motifs that dance around the top end with glee. Then we have Th3 Oth3R & Luke Garcia who bring us ‘Übermut’. A symphony of sounds get this one off to an emotive start, a muted b-line juddering way down low, which unfurls after the intro giving you a reason to dance. Th3 Oth3R & Luke Garcia up the ante, modulating the bass to make it snarl with malice, the drama-tinged breakdown is sure to cause uproar wherever this is played. Goom Gum’s ‘Flora’ marks the halfway point for the release, eight tracks deep, eight more to go. This one makes use of a hypnotic vocal clip and an entrancing melody to really get your pulse racing. Adrenaline will be pumping and emotions running high as Gum’s track encourages you to let loose and be absorbed by its mystical flow…
Still with us?… Now it’s the second half.
Ede invites us into his world with ‘Vertikal’, an ominous cut that emanates a feeling of dread while simultaneously making you dance. Ede’s inspired use of synth lines that increase in velocity and pitch sends shivers down your spine, keeping the energy levels percolating throughout. Theus Mago and Local Suicide then team up for ‘Technician’, a marauding track that features a warped vocal refrain, chopped up and pep- pered in amongst a dense soundscape full of distinctive sounds and effects. Powerful. Mexican Iñigo Vontier’s contribution is ‘Cougars & Drums’, an apt title for a percussion-heavy cut that utilises indigenous sounding wind instruments and melodies to add a localised perspective. Then Skatman gives us a slice of future funk with ‘Neo’. Get ready to lose yourself in the groovy b-line and acid flecks as we’re transported into the cosmos where unexplored terrain and unknown beings tempt us to escape life on Earth.
Following on from ‘Neo’, it’s ‘Serotonin’ by The Organism. As the title suggests, this one is sure to provoke feelings of euphoria, encouraging a warm glow all over your body, emanating from the inside out. The pulsating bassline is complemented by mysterious chimes and a reversed vocal clip. Get ready for a cataclysmic breakdown, woosh! Spanish boy wonder KID SIMIUS steps up next with ‘Ford Granada’ Named after a famous car from the seventies, this one splices an upbeat melody with a downcast low end, using plenty of layers to create depth and sucking you into its contagious rhythm. When we get to the main breakdown, it’s party time, so dust off those dancing shoes and let’s boogie like it’s 1974… Biesmans delivers the penultimate cut entitled ‘Wild Wild World’, a driving composition full of emotional depth and nuance. Biesmans does a sterling job of building this one up, adding more and more elements to the arrangement to create an utterly captivating composition. Finally Echonomist closes this epic compilation with ‘16 Days’. In typical Echonomist style he sends us home with our hearts a flutter, full of positive energy and good memories. ‘16 Days’ is designed for lovers, best friends, comrades, dance floor buddies… anyone and everyone who’s ready to enjoy a special moment with a fellow human being.
Phew! And there it is, 16 impeccable cuts from the second Spektrum Various Artists compilation, as TAU further cements its untainted reputa- tion for emotive dance floor music of the highest quality…

Artists: Thomass Jackson & Local Suicide Title: Hit & Miss (Part of ‘Ransom Note presents Pen Pals’ VA Compilation) Label: Ransom Note Records Distribution: !K7 Cat No: RSNCOMP01 Format: Digital / Stream Release Date: April 24, 2020
Over the last month, the music and events industry has entered unchartered territory due to the Covid-19 lockdown, and artists and online media have found themselves in a financially vulnerable position with much more time on their hands.
To help some of those artists, and provide Ransom Note with much-needed financial support, three weeks ago we reached out to some friends of the website with the challenge to make a track in collaboration with another producer, musician or vocalist, remotely, in 10 days. The result is ‘Pen Pals’: a compilation featuring 15 collaborations from 32 artists.
Due to the current situation we’ve increased royalties for all artists involved and, whilst the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions apply, accounting will be processed fortnightly. Profits from the compilation will also provide financial support for Ransom Note who have been heavily impacted by the halt of the events industry.

Artists: Alejandro Paz & Local Suicide Title: Hoffnung (Part of ‘International Waters Vol.1’ VA Compilation) Label: Ombra Intl. Distribution: Prime Cat No: OMBRAINTL014 Format: Digital Release Date: May 1st, 2020
This is no time for boundaries. We are all in this together; a shared global experience the likes of which none of us have ever felt before. We feel tense and search for hope in everything we read, see, hear. Feeling so many emotions all at once… ‘International Waters’ captures this intensity perfectly.
A year in the making, comprising deep, emotional, heavy and sexy dark wave sounds from exciting artists from every corner of the world, the seeds for Ombra International’s largest project so far were sown long before the pandemic. But Ombra bossman Curses – like most of us – could sense something coming. For now, it’s biological. But the political and ecological landscapes have been just as tense and volatile. Hence the album’s release on May 1st – a universally recognised day for independence and revolution.
We have no idea what the future of this new normal will be. But we know what we’ll be listening to; the sound Curses and many others have been championing in recent years is real, it’s honest, it’s raw, it unites people from all musical fields and camps, it comes with a natural high, it’s ‘International Waters’; an album ranging from the psychedelic rolling technoid stomps of Adame Princess to smouldering shoegazing cosmosis of Dame Bonnet and so many talented individuals in between… Mufti, Roe Deers, Montessori, Alejandro Paz & Local Suicide and many more. It also comes with a personal handwritten message from the label curator and founder Curses himself…
“We are living in a transitional time of political and pandemic change, amongst environmental unrest. In these times of change, people’s true shadows emerge. The light, and the dark, surfaces through the blood and dust. The selfish and the kind. The greedy and the generous. If some of us solely aren’t affected by this change, we need to respect our elders, the sick and vulnerable. Unite, embrace and confront this global transition. International Waters Volume 1 is a compilation I have been building for over a year. Listening to it now, the messages in these songs feel more relevant than ever. You can feel the tension. Human unrest rising to a better tomorrow, to a better today within all of these songs. Ombra International is a label focused on bringing different artists from their respective countries together, and now more than ever is a crucial time to be united worldwide. .”
Stay united, stay inspired, stay global… We will be stronger once we’ve come through this and art like this gives us moments of hope. Take care.

Artists: Kalipo & Local Suicide Title: Wunderbar EP Label: Hold Your Ground Distribution: The Orchard Cat No: HYG0017 Format: Digital Release Date: April 09, 2020
EP Info: Off the back of their hot success from their previous EP Dominator, esteemed Bavarian producer Kalipo and the renowned Greco-German duo Local Suicide continue their pioneering collaboration by bringing us another impressive EP; turning them into something of a force to be reckoned with. After promising a year full of new material and intriguing remixes, the Berlin-based artists have done nothing but deliver a trail-blazing collaboration.
Releasing music conceived and designed for the club, Hold Your Ground, the sublabel to Audiolith, has nurtured the perfect storm for the fusion between Kalipo’s hypnotic and Local Suicide’s post-disco approach to the techno sound. With striking synths that cover a spectrum of notes and bringing back those distinct and seductive vocals that remind us of Dominator, their collaboration on both Wunderbar and Zig Zag manages to cleverly sync both their styles of production together and demonstrate their take on the new-wave, EBM movement. The remixes that feature as part of this EP are outstanding, showing the complex and varied interpretations of the Kalipo x Local Suicide sound. Italo Brutalo’s remix of Wunderbar manages to manipulate the track into a trancey version of itself, editing the vocals into a computer-generated style and adding the rolling drum patterns to create suspense. Mufti’s approach is to emphasise that stomping kick drum, all while layering the different tone vocals over each other to turn the track into a murkier rendition of itself.
T.M.A’s method for Zig Zag is a whole transformation from its previous identity. Keeping the vocals so they only appear during the climax of the track, speeding up the BPM and adding in those notorious offbeat kicks really exemplifies what T.M.A is known for; producing atmospheric and progressive beats. Last but not least we have Back From The Wave’s take on Zig Zag. Its paralyzing approach to the melody and overwhelming timbre resonates throughout, leaving you overcome with emotion. Wunderbar is truly an EP that takes centre-stage, possessing the power to transport you to a place you may have never been before. With different styles and influences making their mark on these tracks, Local Suicide and Kalipo’s versatility proves to be inspirational and attractive to all that encounter them. Wunderbar, comprised of 2 originals and 4 remixes, is set to be released on the Hold Your Ground label on April 9th.
“Hailing from Germany is Kalipo and Greco-German duo Local Suicide. Their collaborative effort is dark and sinister. Perfect atmosphere for those underground electro clubs of yesteryear.”Audiodrums
“Zig Zag’ feels like it has come straight out of the 80s.”badkingdommusic.com
